VPN Maintenance:Tuesday 5/2/17 and Thursday 5/4/17

Incident report: Planned VPN Maintenance

Non-disruptive upgrades on the campus VPN appliances are scheduled this week, as follows:

VPN-1 – Tuesday, 5/2/17 from 11am-1pm
VPN-2 – Thursday, 5/4/17 from 11am-1pm and 4pm-5pm

If your VPN client is correctly configured to use the address vpn.ucsd.edu, then you should not notice any interruption of service. However, some clients appear to be configured incorrectly to connect directly to the appliances at vpn-1.ucsd.edu and vpn-2.ucsd.edu, rather than the correct pool address of vpn.ucsd.edu. Those clients will lose connectivity during the upgrades.

If you are experiencing VPN connectivity issues during the maintenance windows, then please reconfigure your clients to use the address: vpn.ucsd.edu.
