A complete power shut down of Revelle commons including HDH IT department is scheduled for early Thursday 09/24/09 morning.
We will begin shutting down our HDH IT Systems at 11:30 pm this Wednesday evening in anticipation of the power outage.
This includes all departmental network access including, telecom equipment, e-mail, network files, HDH web sites, SharePoint, Point of Sale systems, RSO access, Maximo (CSC), RMS, Kronos time clocks, Maintenance Key access systems, and Persona Electronic lock applications

Some messages sent to mailman lists on 8/27 between the hours of (5:30P -10:30P) may not have delivered, bounces were sent to affected list owners with the option configured. A configuration change made during our after hours maintenance this evening caused this unforeseen issue; the problem has been fixed. Log analysis indicate that there were 246 messages affected during this time frame. Unfortunately these messages are not recoverable and have to be resent by the senders if needed.

We will be disabling writes to all databases and tables on
fear.ucsd.edu on October 21, at 6pm in preparation of a final dump needed to bring new hardware online. This means that no updates will be made to hostmaint, ALEN, or mailupd between 6pm and 8pm.
After this time, the database will return online and the replacement machine will come online as a slave until we're sure of hardware and data integrity.
Once we're ready to move forward, the final phase will be to change the addressing for fear and the new server and bring it online as the database master.

There was a problem with the official campus mailing list distribution server today causing multiple copies to be sent to some recipients. As a result of the problem, the UCSD Barracuda SPAM Firewall experienced high loads causing the mail queue to be backed up. Users may have experienced mail delays of up to 30 minutes.
