Incident report: ITS senior management has made the decision to close our AP&M datacenter, which is where much of the infrastructure that supports the computer labs and a variety of other services is currently housed.

On Wednesday, December 20th we will be moving a lot of that hardware over to the datacenter at the San Diego Supercomputer Center.

Services such as student home directories, various software licenses, lab printing (all printing including posters), terminal server access, Virtual Lab, Triton Ed, etc. will be unavailable between 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM that day, assuming all goes well. If we encounter difficulties, that outage may need to be extended until the problems can be resolved. A lot of planning is going into this move so we are expecting it to go as smoothly as possible.
