UCSD Facilities Management has scheduled transformer maintenance/repair for the two distribution transformers that feed the EAST building of SDSC:
START: Oct 21st - 5:00AM
STOP: Oct 21st - 3:00PM
IMPACT: This includes the EAST data center (the smaller facility), but NOT the West. If you have gear in the East facility, you will see multiple drops in utility power throughout the window as we shift load between the two transformers. Both need the same repair, and the loads can be moved, just not without interruption. These drops should be no more than (30) seconds each, and the UPS system will carry your systems through without issue. You will see the drop in the 'B' side of all the racks, so please plan for those alerts if you are monitoring your own systems. Plan for up to three of these drops during the (10) hour window.
