To resolve excessive interface errors accumulating on two major backbone core links, which was the root cause of Major Incident INC0161952 campus network outage on Tuesday, 03/25/24, ITS will be replacing the line card in Slot 2 of the Juniper MX-0 border router on Thursday, April 11 between 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. PT.

All links on the line card being replaced are redundant except for one 40G link for HPWREN, and service disruption is not anticipated for any campus traffic beyond that single link. It is estimated that the actual hardware replacement duration should take no longer than 30minutes to perform. All affected stakeholders will be notified of the maintenance ahead of the scheduled timeframe.
