Maintenance: Replace Expiring UCSD Protected Wireless System Certificate Jul 29, 2025 07:00-08:00 PDT

ITS has scheduled the following maintenance:

When: Tuesday, July 29 at 7:00 a.m. PT

On Tuesday, July 29 at 7:00 a.m. PT, ITS will be replacing the existing certificate being used by the UCSD wireless system for authentication due to the current certificate nearing its expiration date. After the certificate is changed you may get a message on your devices telling you it has been changed, This is normal and the new certificate from "Auth.ucsd.edu" should be accepted.

If, for some reason, your device is still unable to join UCSD Protected after the certificate change, try having your device forget the SSID and then try to re-connect to UCSD Protected. If you still are having problems then please contact the Service Desk at (858) 246-4357 or email servicedesk@ucsd.edu.

On Monday, July 14 from 5:00-6:00 a.m. PT, IT Services will be conducting upgrades to the campus wireless controller. Wireless clients will notice a brief outage of 5-10 minutes as the APs will temporarily move to a backup controller. Clients will notice a second 5-10 minutes outage after the upgrade as the APs move back to the primary controllers.
